Marriage Enrichment Ministry
The Couples Ministry is designed to see Marriages grow and mature in the Word of God by learning and applying its Biblical truths and become a true reflection of the relationship between Christ and the Church, while promoting a biblical view of sacrifice, unity, love, respect and order in the Marriage.

Christian Counseling Ministry
Are you struggling with relationships, grief, or loss, anger or bitterness, or even personal or spiritual discouragement? The aim of Christian counseling is to help regain a sense of hope for their life that is found in Jesus Christ. This ministry believes that at the core of what they do is to help others achieve a better understanding of themselves and God which is rooted in the Holy Scriptures.

Single Adult Ministry
Our mission is to provide a ministry to young adults, divorce-es, widows and single adults that fosters’ individual wholeness through a relationship with God. Our desire is for our single adults to grow into the image of Christ and prepare for their destiny God has planned for them.

Educational Ministry
Our mission is to educate, equip, and empower individuals as they seek to learn and apply Biblical principles and Christian values for daily living. This Ministry is responsible for planning and administering the total education program of the Church, including Bible Classes, Vacation Bible School, Educational Program of Leadership and Training, and distribution of Christian literature. It shall also cooperate with other groups and ministries of the Church to plan educational activities to enhance the effectiveness of their ministry.

Security Ministry
The Security Ministry provides a sense of safety to our members and our guests. Their primary responsibility is to deter, d-escalate, and resolve any issues that may arise. A member or guests that feels secure, will be able to focus on the reason they are at Worship to begin with, to build a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, without the fear of so many dangers in today’s world.

Our purpose and passion is to worship our God in spirit and in truth, and to create an environment for God’s people to do the same. Worship is more than just what happens on Sunday, it’s a lifestyle. From organizing the order of worship each Sunday, to selecting those who will be serving in that capacity, our main focus is that when we’re serving and worshiping the Lord, we’re doing it with praise and honor to Him.

Health & Wellness/RE-ACT Ministry
The Health Ministry is designed to promote good health among the Garden Oaks members by conducting health fairs and seminars. They are also on hand to provide emergency medical personnel during services and congregational events. The Health Ministry is made up of professional health practitioners who are members of the Garden Oaks Family.

First Touch Ministry
The First Touch Ministry is an essential part of the ministry at The Garden Oaks Church of Christ. They are the “first contacts” for people who come to worship on Sundays and other special events. Our First Touch Ministry are the people who stand on the front porch of The Garden Oaks Church and welcome people as they enter God's house. The First Touch Ministry serves guests and church family alike, helping each person to find a place that meets their needs, offering a program, a friendly handshake, and a warm welcome, but most importantly, guarding the presence of God by keeping order and exemplifying the fruit of the Spirit to everyone that enters the premises of The Garden Oaks Church of Christ.

Men’s Ministry
Our mission is to provide men with the resources to develop Godly character and help equip them to influence their world for Jesus Christ. We strive to unite men in Bible study, prayer, ministry, fellowship, and accountability. We encourage our men to become a magnet for service and a resource for other church ministries and missions.
Ministry Leaders: Robert (Bob) Buttrill
The principle function of the Youth Ministry is to work together in love providing spiritual, social and physical activities for all of the youth of the congregation. This ministry strives to provide activities that will educate, motivate, and encourage all youth and their families to grow in their relationship with Christ and at the same time have fun doing it. It is our desire to assist parents in every way possible to help their children grow up to be spiritually productive young people in the Church and in the world in which they live.

Spanish Ministry
Our Spanish Ministry strives to further the mission of Jesus Christ within a multi-faceted faith community. Our goal is to reach the Spanish speaking community and be servants of the Lord within our congregation and outside of our congregation. We also take this mission to other parts of the world to minister and serve our Spanish-Speaking, Brothers and Sister in Christ across the country. We conduct a Spanish-Speaking Worship Service every Sunday Morning at 10:00am, upstairs in our Chapel.

women's Ministry
The purpose of our Women’s Ministry is to unify, connect, and serve. We encourage women to grow in their faith in Christ, to develop and strengthen intimate friendships with other women, and to provide opportunities to serve and reach out to our community for Christ.

College Ministry
Our college ministry helps students become EXPOSED to, EXPERIENCE and EXPRESS Christ, His kingdom and the biblical purposes of His church. Our college ministry is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of college-aged young adults (18-25). We do this through a wide variety of experiences that help college age students nurture a relationship with Christ in a loving community as they navigate the challenges of this life-stage.

Wise Owls (Age 55 and Older)
The mission of the Wise Owls is to promote spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth through a variety of wholesome activities that challenge and stimulate older adults to explore areas that enhance a healthy and vital lifestyle that glorifies God.

The mission of Children's Ministry is to partner with families in helping kids commit to loving God passionately, loving others genuinely, and serving Christ boldly. They also participate in our Children’s Worship every Sunday Morning in the Christian Life Center and every Fourth Sunday in the Main Sanctuary.

new members ministry
Our New Members Ministry will greet the new members and make a connection with him/her when they are baptized or have placed membership with the Garden Oaks Church. The Ministry Leaders will sit down with each new member to help guide them through on how to get connected with their Brothers and Sisters in Christ here at Garden Oaks, as well as, informing them of the different Ministries we have in place here at the congregation and introducing them to the Leadership of Garden Oaks and assisting them in getting connected with their Care Group, according to their last name. The ministry’s responsibility is to make sure they have receive all personal contact information regarding the new member, so the congregation and Leadership will have a way to reach out to him or her should that need arise. We should always try to be a friend, brother or sister to them to encourage attendance, to answer questions, and support them as long as needed to help them to become faithful in the Church.

parking lot ministry
The Parking Lot Ministry’s mission is to enhance the worship experience of individuals as they enter and exit the parking facilities at The Garden Oaks Church of Christ. Our Parking Lot Teams are available to assist you in parking your car as well as having carts patrolling the campus to transport you from your car to the Church Building.

Multimedia Ministry
The purpose of the Multimedia Ministry is to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our visually-driven, ever changing world through the use of technology and media, and to equip other Ministries of the Church to use digital and electronic media as a Worship and Outreach tool. This Ministry not only provides the technical support required for our Worship Services, but also records various events, teachings and sermons, which are made available on CDs, DVDs, and for viewing on our multimedia streams.
